To begin 2011, the Hyundai ix20 is awarded a 5-Star Euro NCAP rating. The B-segment MPV receives a class-leading score of 85% in the 'child occupant protection' category, performing well in both the 18-month-old and three-year-old assessments. In the 'adult occupant' and 'pedestrian' categories, the ix20 receives competitive scores of 89% and 64% respectively.
Following in March, the Hyundai i10 receives the Best City Car award from carbuyer.co.uk. The judges commented: "A recent redesign means that the Hyundai i10 looks better than ever. It has always been affordable, economical to run, fun to drive and very practical, but now it's stylish and well made too. For our money, there's no better city car around"
Hyundai climbs two places from sixth to fourth best car maker in the Auto Express Driver Power Survey in April. Completed by over 23,000 drivers, the Driver Power survey is compiled by Auto Express, the UK's best-selling weekly motoring magazine, and is considered to be Britain's definitive poll on car reliability and satisfaction.
Well known motoring website HonestJohn.co.uk, held its inaugural awards ceremony in May with the i10 Blue receiving special recognition as the 'Most genuinely economical petrol-engined car'. Dan Harrison, Editor, HonestJohn.co.uk, commented: "Nothing gets our users going quite like fuel economy: when consumption in real life fails to live up to the official published figure, they soon let us know about it. So it's good to be able to reward the models which come closest to matching - or improving on the official fuel consumption figure and the Hyundai i10 Blue is one of the best examples of this by genuinely delivering over 60mpg in real-world driving."
In June, Hyundai receives one of the most prestigious consumer awards in the UK. Which? Magazine judges Hyundai to be Best Car Manufacturer with Peter Vicary-Smith, chief executive of Which? Saying: "To win a Which? Award, not only must a company offer outstanding products or services, it must also deliver exceptional value and a great customer experience. While all those in the shortlist performed well over the past 12 months, Hyundai stood out thanks to its great warranty deal and value for money cars."
The i20 and i30 also receive Which? 'Best Buy' status, with i30 ranking fourth in the medium cars reliability index and i20 ranking sixth in the super-minis.

The Auto Express 2011 New Car Awards bestows the i10 as the Best City Car for the second year and the ix20, the Best Supermini MPV. Auto Express Acting editor, Graham Hope, said of the i10: "Competition in the city car sector is hotter than ever - and that makes the Hyundai i10's second consecutive victory in this category even more impressive. The i10 has the feel of a big car inside, while its composed driving dynamics mean it's as at home on the open road as on congested city streets."
Of the ix20, Hope continued: "The ix20 shot straight to the top of the sector when it hit showrooms last year, and it fully deserves its class-leading status. Not only does this practical model look great, but it brings new levels of cabin quality and comfort to the supermini-MPV sector. Choose the ix20 and you also get the security of buying a car from one of the most highly regarded dealer networks in the country."

It represents a significant investment for Hyundai and highlights just how important the UK is to the Hyundai business."

John Murdoch, President of the ASMW explained: "There are three things an estate car must be - practical, practical and practical. So, our winner has the space and versatility to seal the deal for practicality, but this estate has a whole lot more to offer. Oh, and did we mention it's also one of the most practical estates you can buy?!"
