Active front head restraints
For added safety and comfort the Hyundai ix35 is fitted with active front head restraints to restrict head movement in the event of a collision.
ABS with EBD
Anti-lock Brakes (ABS) allow you to maintain steering capability in emergency braking conditions by preventing loss of steering control, while the Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) distributes the braking force to meet the road conditions.
Emergency Stop Signal
When sensors detect a sharp deceleration in emergency braking conditions, the brake lights flash three times to warn other drivers that the car is braking sharply. This gives other motorists following more time to react and potentially avoid a hazardous situation ahead.
ESP, DBC and HAC
The Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) constantly monitors the car's behaviour, controlling the brake pressure to each wheel and managing engine power output during acceleration and braking on low friction road surfaces. Downhill Brake Control (DBC) keeps the car in check on low speed, steep descents, while the Hill-start Assist Control (HAC) function keeps you from rolling back on difficult hill starts.
