Safety
Every aspect of the Santa Fe is designed with safety in mind - and every safety feature is fitted as standard across the range. A number of passive and active systems help prevent accidents and ensure the utmost protection. These include Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), Anti-lock Brakes with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), and Traction Control System (TCS). Other additions include a sensor that triggers the side airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners in the event of a rollover.
Active head restraints
The Santa Fe features active front head restraints that help cushion your neck against the impact of a rear collision and reduce the possibility of whiplash injuries.
Airbags
The six front, side and curtain airbags help ensure the utmost driver and passenger protection should a situation become unavoidable. A new rollover sensor will trigger the side airbags and seatbelt pre-tensioners in the event of the vehicle rolling.
Alarm
A factory fitted alarm system is included as standard, and is operated through the remote central locking control.
Anti-lock Brakes (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD)
Hyundai's state of the art ABS prevents the wheels locking up in an emergency braking situation. The EBD uses sensors to determine where the braking force needs to be distributed to meet the road conditions. Together these systems make braking more precise and effective whilst increasing stability under heavy braking.
Body strength
The Santa Fe is built to be extremely tough. A rigorously crash tested shell, including side impact bars, provides maximum protection for driver and passengers.
Deadlocks
This additional security device protects the locks from targeted attempts at breaking into the vehicle, working in combination with the overall security package to ensure the best possible all round protection.
Electronic Stability Programme (ESP)
This advanced electronic system is pro-active in controlling brake pressure to each wheel, and manages the engine power output during acceleration and braking on low friction road surfaces. ESP works in conjunction with the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Traction Control (TC), a combination of systems that aid in delivering the maximum road holding and brake efficiency possible, putting you firmly in control, no matter what the driving conditions.
Immobiliser
The Santa Fe's sophisticated immobiliser uses a transponder-equipped key, antenna coil and EMS to ensure that only the original keys supplied with the car can be used to start it.
Remote central locking
Remote central locking operated from a key fob comes as standard for increased convenience and security.
