Safety
When it comes to safety the Veloster is in a class of its own. Sporting six airbags, ESP, ABS, TCS, Vehicle Stability Management, a Brake Assist System, Active front headlights you'll always feel in control. And to top it all off, the Veloster has a Five Star Euro NCAP safety rating.
6 Airbags
The comprehensive airbag system provides maximum protection for you and your passengers in the event of a collision. There are 6 airbags in total - driver, front seat passenger, front side and curtain airbags.
ESP, ABS & TCS
The Veloster's intelligent ESP monitors the car's behaviour, controlling the brake pressure to each wheel and managing engine power output during acceleration and braking on low friction road surfaces. Anti-lock Brakes (ABS) allow you to maintain steering capability in emergency braking conditions by preventing loss of steering control. And TCS (traction control) prevents the wheels spinning, keeping the power on the road. So whether you're moving off, accelerating or negotiating a steep hill, you're in control.
Vehicle Stability Management
VSM is an active safety system used on difficult road conditions, where traction across all four wheels can suddenly become uneven and the car unstable. For example, if a car should slide and too much steering lock is applied, VSM reduces the amount of steering input. Vice versa, if not enough steering is applied into the slide VSM will apply more steering lock.
Brake Assist System
When you need to stop suddenly, the BAS applies extra power to the 10" diameter brakes. So you stop even quicker.
Active front headrests
In the event of a rear collision, the active headrests in the front seats move up and forward to help protect your head and neck - reducing the chances of whiplash.
